Flagged occupations on the skills occupation list

The following occupations have been flagged by the Australian government as borderline for inclusion on the SOL in future years. Decisions whether these occupations will be included on the SOL will be taken through monitoring of the labour market, migration data and feedback from stakeholders regarding supply and demand.

As follows: 
Accountant (General), Management Accountant, Taxation Accountant, Actuary, Land Economist, Valuer, Surveyor, Cartographer, Other Spatial Scientist, Chemical Engineer, Civil Engineer, Geotech Engineer, Quantity Surveyor, Structural Engineer, Transport Engineer, Electronics Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Production or Plant Engineer, Agricultural Engineer, Biomedical Engineer,Engineering Technologist,Environmental Engineer, Naval Architect, Medical Laboratory Scientist, Veterinarian, Dentist, Speech Pathologist,  ICT Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Analyst Programmer, Developer Programmer, Software Engineer, Automotive Electrician, Motor Mechanic (General),
Diesel Motor Mechanic, Motorcycle Mechanic, Small Engine Mechanic, Sheetmetal Trades Worker, Stonemason, Carpenter and Joiner, Carpenter, Joiner, Painting Trades Workers, Glazier, Fibrous Plasterer, Solid Plasterer, Boat Builder and Repairer, Shipwright, Dental Hygienist, Dental Prosthetist, Dental Technician, Dental Therapist.

The SOL is typically issued on 1st July each year. There is no firm indication that any of these occupations will be taken off the SOL next July or further ahead; however, to avoid uncertainty, we would recommend that all applicants ensure their paperwork is in order and their visas are lodged before this date, as any changes post-lodgement will not affect them.
