These visas are for business people wanting to visit Australia for business purposes; this may include:
- conducting business with and Australian-based company or organisation
- attending conferences or training sessions
- conducting an exploratory visit with a view to setting up a business.
Business (Short Stay) visa
This is a short stay visa that allows business people to enter Australia for up to 3 months. People are able to conduct business activities such as:
- attending conference or training sessions
- conducting an exploratory visit with a view to setting up a business.
Activities such as acting, musical performances or commercial film making are not included on this visa.
Sponsored Business Visitor (Short Stay) visa
Another short stay visa allowing entry for up to three months, this visa is for business people who may not be eligible for an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA), but who have an approved sponsor in Australia.
ETA (Business Entrant)
The most common business visa allowing business people entry into Australia for up to three months at a time. There are two types of ETA visas (short and long validity) that allow you multiple visits to Australia for either a 12 month period or for the life of the passport.
APEC Business Travel Card
The APEC Business Travel Card scheme allows business people entry to 17 economies in the Asia-Pacific region for the purpose of:
- exploring business opportinities
- conducting trade and investment activities
- attending meetings
The 17 participating economies are:
- Australia
- Brunei Darussalam
- Chile
- Hong Kong (China)
- Indonesia
- Japan
- Republic of Korea
- New Zealand
- Papua New Guinea
- People's Republic of China
- The Philippines
- Malaysia
- Peru
- Singapore
- Chinese Taipei
- Thailand
- Vietnam
