Do you have children residing in Australia and would like move there to be near them? There are a number of migration options for parents of Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or eligible New Zealand citizens, who are applying from outside Australia.

Parent (Migrant) visa
This visa is for parents who have children already living and settled in Australia. You need to be sponsored by your child or another eligible sponsor to be eligible for this visa. This is a permanent visa.

Contributory Parent (Migrant) visa
This visa is the same as the parent visa above but is processed faster and costs more to apply for.

Contributory Parent (Temporary) visa
Similar to the two visas above this is a temporary visa that is valid for two years and allows you to live and work in Australia. This visa cannot be extended or renewed but after the two year period is up you can apply for permanent residency. This visa requires sponsorship.

Contributory Parent (Migrant) visa bridging
This is a bridging visa used by holders of the contributory parent temporary visa who wish to apply for the permanent contributary parent visa.
