Australian immigration survey shows migrants are happy

A recent Australian immigration survey of migrants who have made the move Down Under in recent years has shown that the vast majority have no regrets about their decision to begin a new life in Australia.

The survey, commissioned by the Australian government, has discovered that 30 per cent of new migrants find the most appealing aspect of life in Australia to be the people. This comes as no surprise as last year Australians were voted the friendliest people in the world. The weather, lifestyle and environment were also major factors in terms of what new migrants love about the country.

Understandably, 10 per cent of migrants claimed that missing friends and family was stated as being the part of the migration experience that new migrants enjoyed the least, however, 30 per cent stated that there was nothing at all that had made their move an unpleasant one.

A survey conducted in 2006 rated Australia in the top three destinations for skilled visa applications, along with Canada and the USA. Statistics now show that almost one in every four Australians was born overseas.
