Questions:

My partner and I are looking to migrate to Austrailia. We both have skilled professions and we would be taking aroun £40,000 Uk pounds with us - however, when we have tried to score for this - we have failed by ten points? Does anyone know why? Do you not get extra points if you have quite a bit of money behind you? thank
I am a Church Minister and my husband a further education lecturer with expereince of working in prison education - Maths and IT. We have been thinking about emiigrating for some time now and wondered whether, in view of our ages 58 and 53 it would be possible now or whther we should wait until we can retire and then come as self supporting. I could apply fo rtransfer to the Uniting Church of Australia and my husband could then try find work or he could find work and I come and apply to trnsfer once I'm there. What opprotunities would there be for him. He is fully qualified to teach 16 years and above in Britain but has mainly taught adults.
can i emigrate to canada if i have been bankrupt?
We are a british family but my husband works in the Middle East for an oil company. We would like to live in Oz with my husband continuing to work in the M.East (too good a wage to give up yet) and returning to Oz during his leave. Is there a way we could do this or do we have to go down the skilled visa route? If we were granted permanent residency and he continued to work in the M.East what would be the implications? Your help would be appreciated.
Can I apply to emmigrate to canada under the skilled worker programme if i am a self-employed designer? My work experience is all on short term contracts. do they just add together all the times i have been working to calculate my total work experience?
I am a student studying Optometry in England, and I would like to move to New Zealand when I finish my degree. Is there any way to give myslf a better chance of being accepted over the period of my course, so that when I finish I can easily emigrate?
sir ,your site has been most informative .My question is that i am planning to emigrate to oz on a skilled independent visa but i donot have the financial resources to migrate with my spouse and two kids yet though i plan that they will join me later when i would have secured a job and settled. What are the prospects of a visa by the time i give DIMA this information and i hope their getting a visa eventually will not be complicated? Thankyou
My daughter is planning to take up citizenship in Australia and wants me to join her in two years time. I am a qualified teacher and lecturer specialising in boarding school education. My previous husband left me quite a lot of debt 15 years ago and I have reduced it down to a small sum of £10.000 and the Citizens Advice Bureau have advised me to go bankrupt so that I am sure that I have not unwhittingly become involved with any debts that my former husband may have accumulated in my name. We cannot find him. I am advised that this is the best course of action to take as I do not have any assetts at the moment. Would this action prevent me from being eligible to emigrate to Australia or eventually taking up citizenship with my daughter in the future?
my family which inculdes my mum dad and 2 younger sisters are going to apply for residency in new zealand. I am 24 years old and have a 2 year old daughter and work in a bank as a customer service adviser. I am rather concerned that I will not be able to go under their visa application due to the fact I have a dependant myself. I have a levels and have done IT GCSE but have not furthered my studies to degree level. Would I be legible to go under the family visa and if not what are the other routes for emigrating. I am aware that my family could emigrate and I would possibly be sponsored after 3 years to go but do not want to take this route, please help

You can score 5 points with a capital investment of $100K AUD. Ring and have one of our team assess you. It's free and professionally done by one of us who deals with this stuff daily.

The church route sounds your best route. Hubby would pick up something I am sure.

Your plan is workable if he meets the criteria for a skilled visa. Many Australians work offshore - the only implication will be your tax "residence" will be Australia.

yes. It is harder to prove self employment but do-able!

What you suggest has a problem. The entire migrating family unit must make entry to Australia within 1 year of medical or penal clearance.

In theory no - it should not. Unless you use a business visa where previous bankruptcy is a problem. How do you intend to enter Australia. Contributary Parent requires you to invest a large sum.

I see you having a struggle to get entry. You are right that having a dependant blocks off certain temporary visas. It may be that you could consider a student visa in NZ if funds permit?
