My husband and I are just about to start the emigration process. He is a bricklayer by trade and has gone back to it in the last 2 years after doing other work due to the trade drying up for a while. He does not have a City and Guilds in bricklaying but does have a college Certificate. In 1990 he was convicted of taking spotlights off cars. It went to court but he did not go to prison. Will this affect our chances?

What are the education requirments for care in Canada, and why is crane driver on the list if being one wont get him in the country..bearing in mind we wont be applying for about another 2/3 years so he would have had more experience. He does have another skills. He has worked in quarrying and operated heavy plant machiney for the last 7 years. plus he worked with a firm for 3 years doing underground pipe work.. water drains etc. Surely taking all that account he would stand a good chance??
Thanks for the reply about the dementia question. you say that we are not on the list, well job 4212 is community and social welfare services.. after looking this up it covers a wide verity of jobs working with the elderly in their own homes or care homes and working with children etc. well i work in a care home now so surely that would come under the same thing. Job 7371 is crane driver also looked up the description and it covers machines that my partner has passed to drive. I have also found quite a few job adverts " tower crane drivers urgently required in canada" Maybe I have misunderstood the skilled worker list.

You need post qual work exp. Work exp gained during a degree woudl not be counted. |

1/ your work experience obviously also contains "training time" - so I am unsure if you would qualify for the TRA. However - given your age and time you want to stay in Australia why dont you try the Working Holiday Maker? You can apply for it online via this site. |

Mosst business visas have the requirement of owning the business you have worked in for the past 4 years. There are some exceptions - call Richard Gregan - 0131 625 6906 to discuss informally. |

There is work available for properly qualififed and experienced social Workers right across Canada. UK degrees are recognised. An employer is going to be looking for a well motivated and experienced person prior to offering a job. |

You must have the degree AND relevant work experience prior to applying. |

He must have a trade cetrificate (3 years study duration + 15 years schooling) You must have a minimum of a bachelors degree. In 3 years I am sure Canada will not consider non related work experience in the Education factor. |

All occupations are on the list. The care workers education requirements are where you will fall short. Add up the points for the crane driver and see why I say your situation is not one I would take on. |
