Hi there, I am an indian spouse of a student in New zealand wanting to apply for a work visa can anyone tell me how long does this process take?
I am an Australian and my boyfriend is British. My boyfriend and i have been together for 2 years and 9 months. We met in the UK and lived together there for just over a year, only i was overstaying my WHV for the last 5 months of that time and working cash jobs. I then returned to Australia with him on a visitors visa for 6 weeks. He went back to the UK for 6 months to finish his studies and then came back to Sydney on a WHV so we could be together. We lived together for the year and he has just last week returned to the UK to visit his family and apply for either a spouse visa or skilled workers visa to come back again ASAP. We dont have much evidence of a good financial situation seeing as we've both been working mostly cash paid work without declaring our income. I have always had other legitimate work but it doesnt make enough money to live on in Sydney. Do you think this or my overstaying in the UK will be a problem for his application or my sponsorship of him?

If you have recently been granted the visa (i.e. post April 2005) it is 5 years before you can apply.

Unfortunately there isnt really a visa that will allow you to work unless you get sponsored by a teaching or music organisation.

You wont be able to apply for a green card straight away. You can apply on the basis of your relationship however - for a temp visa first. This can lead onto a "green Card".

No reason why not - if you meet all the criteria - you can apply regardless of citizenship.

IT depends which mission you lodge your application at. In general around 3 to 5 months.
