I received a caution over 10 years ago for theft (shoplifting) and have travelled maybe 20 times to and from the US on the Visa Waiver Programme without realising I was supposed to declare it (until I did some research on the web). I was just formally cautioned again last week, again for shoplifting. I think I should probably apply for a visa. But to what extent will TWO cautions for the same offence affect my chances?

I want my elderly parents to apply for a contributory elderly parents visa to join me in Australia ( I am a citizen). Hi, I had a drink driving offence over 15 years ago. It is no longer on my licence but may show up on the police report. Will I be refused a skilled workers immigration visa for this. No other offences apart from this.
Also, my wife had a kideny transplant 10 years ago. All successful and no issues. She takes certain medication which we will pay for ourselves but could we be refused the visa on medical grounds as the drugs are expensive?

12 months is the life span. Howver the older it is the shorter your time from visa grant to visa validation. i.e. you will have to enter Australia by the anniversary of the police check being issued. |

No. You have been convicted of an offence punishable by imprisonment. |

You will need representation and will have an uphill struggle. Good Luck. |

I would normally be quite confident you would be granted a visa. However in your case you have travelled and NOT declared an offence. I would suggest you get representation to apply for a visa. |

Visa Waiver is not available for you. You must apply to the embassy. I dont know of any refusals for this amount of offending. |

This could well be a medical condition that would be refused. I would suggest you contact a Registered Migration Agent near you. www.themara.com.au |

These sound problematic - as there are two convictions in two seperate years. You will need to convince a decison maker you are not likely to reoffend. This may be best done by using a Registered Migration Agent experienced in dealing with Brisbanes character unit. |
