Questions:

Will I get emmigration to Australia with my wife .My wife is a type I diabetic .No kids
Both myself and my girlfriend are 14 months into a PR application for Canada. We have clean police records however 4 years ago - after the death of her father - my girlfriend was treated for depression, and more recently is being treated for endometriosis. Would either of these cause her to fail the medical?
Will having dysphasia mean failure of the medical? No on-going costs involved just inability to work (dependent adult on my daughters visa application)
Hi. My hsband and I are wanting to emigrate to Australia - with hopefully my parents following on afterwards. My dad 56 has recently developed diabetes type II and my mum had a stroke last year (56). Dad is active and working and mum has lost the use of her left arm but not currently working. She only takes aspirin each day. Will they be able to join us?
Hi, I am currently banned from driving and will not receive my licence back until Jan 2008. I will be moving to Perth (all things being well) in September 2006. Will I need to wait until my ban has expired to apply for an WA licence. I dont mind either way, but I can do a course to receive my licence back 6months earlier if I cannot. Naturally time is running out to do the course! Thank you
Thank you for your very prompt reply about sarcoma and for keeping your fingers crossed for us. Sorry to ask another question. If it was treated in the UK prior to going to Oz would it then be okay? Apparently it is highly unlikely to recur again after treatment. Thanks.
My family and I are going through the skilled worker visa application process. My TRA has been accepted and everything seems to be going well. My wife has recently developed a swelling on her knee and is to undergo tests to find out what it is. It could be harmless or it could be a rare malignancy called sarcoma which is treatable. Could you advise us how this second scenario might affect our application. Thanks
Do i need to declare driving bans on form 47sk? ps thankyou for your previous prompt reply
I Received a drink driving ban in 1999 and was banned for driving for 2 yrs. I am considering applying for a SIR visa for western australia. Will this affect my application ? i have no other criminal convictions.

If the condition is well controlled - it is not a problem in my experience.

My gut feeling is no. It all depends on how serious these illnesses are/were!

I would see this as problematic.

I have had people successfully relocated to Australia with both of these conditions. I would say though that each case is judged individually. You may want to take a "pre MOT" type medical opinion.

This is not one I have come across before. I would assume that you can actually get a license in Australia if you sit the test and comply with the States requirements. A UK court order has a "territotriality" condition on it. I would advise you take advice from a solicitor in WA before proceeding.

Each case is decided on its merits and usually your consultant will have to provide a report outlining - Diagnosis, Treatment history and Prognosis. From this the Medical officer of the Commonwealth will make his decision. A strategy that I often employ is to use an ex - MOC, who is in private practise in Sydney to give a "Pre MOT" report on whether or not it is worth lodging your application. I have no experience of this issue at all to be able to give you any feedback or encouragement unlike Diabetes, breast cancer, testicular cancer, Epilepsy, etc etc. fingers still crossed!

with all medical situations what they are looking for is how much money is this person going to cost us? If the treatment of a sarcoma was going to be expensive then this would not likely be a case that gets approved. I've got my fingers crossed for you that its not sarcoma!!!

yes - you do and it will be shown on your conviction history they ask for pre grant.

generally speaking - no, it wont stop you if there is no other offences. I have seen a knock back for a person with several convictions in a short period of time.

Depending upon the seriousness of your illness you may not meet the health requirement.
