Questions:

hi my name is ben and I was wondering about a friend of mine in northern ireland, she is studying full-time and working one day a week, can she transfer her studies and finish off them here in australia and can then she apply to be a permanent resident and how can I sponsor her, thanks
My Australian boyfriend return home after a 2 year working visa in the UK. We have decided to marry in the new year and he is currently saving for that back home. He will be living with me and does not need finacial support. How long will it take after we are married for him to work in the UK?
A company in Adelaide have offered me sponsorship as a diesel mechanic. They are just waiting for government approval as a sponsorship company. I believe they will not have any problems getting approval. I am a qualified diesel mechanic but I have worked as a tanker driver carrying hazardous chemicals for the past 13 years. Part of the duties does involve checking vehicle for defects and reporting to workshop. I am currently assisting in the company workshop (voluntary)to refresh my skills. The company willing to sponsor me knows all this. But will I still get a long stay 457 visa even though I have not been employed as a mechanic for a long time? Many thanks
My husband has been offered a 5 year contract in Tasmania. We are UK citizens and have three children. What sort of visa will we need and will I be able to work? I am 40 and my husband is 53.
My sister is living in canada and is currently applying for residency. Will she be able to sponsor me once she is a canandian citizen? Also, in regards to points for qualifications. I have A'levels but no diploma or trade certificate being a computer sales specialist for over 20 years, diplomas and certificates are unnecessary for my trade. Would I still only be able to claim 5 points for qualifications on a skilled workers permit?
hello, i have been with my girlfriend for nearly 3 years, time has been split with me living in Australia with her & her living in the UK. She is an Australian citizen and I am British. When can I apply for my Australian citizenship as DeFacto?
I am a UK Citizen & my NZ Citizen partner is living wth me (and has been for 20 months) in the UK on a Working Holiday Visa. Is he eligible to sponsor me under the partnership policy if he's not in NZ? We're both hoping to go to NZ in September when his visa expires.
I'm in the process of applying for residence in New Zealand under the partnership category. However, what happens if my partner & I split up once we're both in New Zealand? Will I be forced to return to the UK immediately? And how do the authorities know this? Do they do regular checks on successful applicants to make sure they are still with their NZ partners?! Please help!
I'm currently applying for NZ residence under the partnership policy & qualify under all the conditions as far as I know. However, I have my one-way flght booked to NZ for 10/09/2006 & am lodging my application next month - about 20th June, giving it 2 months for processing. Is this pushing it for time? Also, if I hear nothing back by the time my flight come, what do you suggest I do as I won't be allowed into NZ without a return ticket! Thanks.

She can apply for a student visa. You cant sponsor her as a friend. You could marry her! No - a bit drastic?

You cannot sponsor a friend.

Usually it can be dealt with within 3 months. You should consider whether or not you have been in a "de facto" relationship and can you apply prior to the wedding day?

Recent Work Experience (RWE) is not required for a 457 in the same way it is for a skilled visa. You should be granted the 457. This is only ever a temporary visa however and you should consider applying for a permanet visa after the required RWE has been accumulated.

You can well get a work right on either a 457 temporary sponsored visa or on ENS permanent visa.

The ideal is 12 months at the time of application - there is some scope for time apart due to visa requirments but this is getting into highly subjective areas. YOu probably should take the advice of a properly qualified MARA registerd agent.

NZ (unlike OZ) will give you permanent residence. So, no, you do not have to leave if your relationship subsequently fails.

You are probably pushing it a bit for time - but time will tell - dont bet your entry into NZ on NZIS, being efficient. one option you do have is to buy an extra leg to your journey - NZ- Sydney return.. This will allow you a 6 month entry into NZ.
