We have recently decided that we want to emmigrate to Australia as a family, myself, my wife my 2 children, my mother (48years old - carer for my children whilst we work) and my 23year old sister. I am a qualified Asbestos Surveyor and plumber and my wife a Fraud Investigator. We have both been employed as these for over 3years. My sister recently returned from Australia and had no problems obtaining a working holiday visa. My mothers 1st cousin lives in Perth and has for 15years and is willing to sponsor us. What kind of visa would we need to apply for? Would we all be able to go on the 1 visa or would we need to apply seperately?| Questions & Answers | |

It absolutely does depend upon the nature and severity of the disability. This would probably take you out of the DIY application basket in my opinion. I deal with several ex Armed Forces people with similar problems per year. Call me (Richard Gregan) on 0131 625 6906. |

The last part of the question is best answered "depends who you talk to". Some cricket fans from both sides of the ditch would have strongly contrasting opinions right now. Really - it is "horses for courses" and what suits some - doesnt suit others. Why dont you try before you buy and visit both? If you are a New Zealand citizen (which takes 5 years permanent residence) you have certain rights of entry into Australia. |

He will need to pass TRA and then have a minimum of 6 onths post qual work experince. For some visas 12 months P/Q work exp is required and some times 3 out of the last 4 years is required to "get over the line" with the points test. |

Isnt it just the most frustrating country to apply to. Some people can get a help along from the Provincial Governments and employers. |

Migration = no. New Mortgage in Australia - quite probably would give you some extra hastle. If you have a good amount of equity to put into a new home I dont see too much problem borrowing the remainder. |

Not good at all. You may consider a student to skilled worker route - but as I have commented before - high risk for families with young kids. |

Skilled General Migration. Idealy 136 is the "gold medal" visa (I have borrowed this term from a well respected comptetitor) - This will mean no need to use the sponsorship of your uncle. The diabetes ususally doesnt cause too much of a problem if it is well controlled. |
