Questions:

Hi,I trained as a screenprinter for 4 years 14 years ago learning on the job, I am 35 & wish to emigrate to Oz age 39. Im considering getting back into printing & gaining a trade qual.I'd like to know if you think it will be possible to emigrate this way & if so how much recent work experience will I need & which visa would be best.I'm concerned that I still wont reach the neccessary points(if they stay the same as now) because I wont get points for my husband(he will be over 45) & screenprinter is not on MODL. Advice appreciated.

You will need post qualification work experience. Check your (to be) nominated occupation against the skilled occupations list (SOL). This can change over time.

Subject to passing the course and being eligible for an onshore student visa you would be granted a permanent visa. This is now a popular route in - via buying Australian tuition. Student visas can have family included.

Under the skills program almost 99.75% no chance. A miniscule theoretical possibility if you could get a school to sponsor you could exist. You are both over 45 years which is the cut off point under the skilled program.

No. Now you need to be an NZ citizen which takes 5 years.

Not as a skilled worker. Perhaps as a businessman or investor if his turnover is good enough.
