Questions:

My husband and I are hoping to move to new zealand, I have 2 daughters from a previous relationship, we were not married, will i need his permission to take them with me? and is there anyway i can do it without his permission?
I am Australian and due to go home early next year. My boyfriend is English, 27, a carpenter (skilled worker?) and we want to stay together. He has been in Australia in 2003 on a working holiday visa so we want to know our options for him coming our. We're not engaged but have lived together for a year (we're on a lease together not not on bills and dont have joint accounts). Can he get a 2nd visa, or a skilled worker visa, or do we have any options?

Hi, my girlfriend is currently in the UK on a WHV and it expires in April 07.We have been living together since 1 month after her arrival and now want to apply for defacto so we can stay in the UK for longer, until I emmigrate to Australia with her. We cannot find many 'details' on what is required to be granted defacto except that you need to be together for 2 years and prove it. looks like skilled or a defacto spouse remain your best options. There could be some kind o f temporary worker visa available if a sponsor could be found.

There is a visa - called a 461 (family of a NZer) - which will let him in - it is Tempoaray and lasts for 5 years and is renewable then on a rollover basis. I will resist ribbing you about having a Saffer for a partner. e-mail me richard@my-oe.com for assistance if required.

I could be so unprofessional in this answer - but will avoid the obvious jokes etc. Congratulations on the impending nuptials. Get a spouse visa. Essentially - download the partner booklet - read it over. DIY if you have the appitude/time - if not drop me an e-mail and I will handle it all for you. richard@my-oe.com
