If I could see your CV and training qualifications I could answer. Hairdressers qualify - sometimes a "barbers" skill set can be short of the required level of specialisisation.

It can be arranged so that his "informal training" amounts to a trade training. Their is a 6 year minimum period that must be demonstrated.

no - trade training is not RWE.

I would recomend he applies as your spouse. As to what job he does in Australia - I would recomend he takes all of his qualification documents with him to Australia and has them assessed by TRA when he gets there.
Can I work in NZ on an Australian Permanent Residents Visa?

My wife and I have been living and working in Australia since emigrating here in October 2005. We are both British but have permanent residents visas obtained in October 2005. The permanent residency was obtained from my IT skills and experience. My wife has been offered a job in Auckland,NZ which is very appealing. Can we both work in NZ using our Australian visas? If so, will this affect the 5 year expiration period on the Australian visa? ANSWER: You can live, work, take benefits of health care and other social benefits in NZ. You can become a permanent resident of NZ by entering the country on your Oz PR visa and staying for 3 years. The 5 years will keep ticking in OZ but your time in NZ wont count toward Oz citizenship

pretty good I would say
Comments:Depending on the country you did your qualification in an whether you fall under the Washington accord. Assuming this is OK i would say your chances are good. Especially as it is now on MODL.

OE Visas does not offer advice for clients on what they need to do to meet an ever changing migration policy. Unfortunately we do not have a crystal ball. However in this case i would advise sticking with being a Chef as it is a highly sort after skill in Australia and is on the migration occupation in demand list. If you have 6 to 9 years experience in the kitchen as a cook/chef then you may be eligible.

The rules are; 1/ more than half of your children in Oz - or 2/ more children in Oz than any other SINGLE country. The "single" part catches you out. If your NZ based son was to move to Oz - there would be scope for you to apply. There is also a temporary "investing retiree" visa to consider.

you seriously need the help of a migration agent. 45 is a cut off. If you have had a 457 (independent Executive) there is a route through - if not you may need to look at Employer Nomination etc.

No applicants under the 495 visa for Victoria must Live, Work and Study in a regional area, i.e outside Metropolitan Melbourne
