Questions:
I am applying for a permanent residency visa (Skills Independent Visa) for Australia with my girlfriend and I am the main applicant. My girlfriend had a drink problem lasting 12 months, it was over 8 years ago and she went into re-hab. She sorted herself out, she has never drank alcohol since, never relapsed and never had a problem with drink in 8 years, she is totally over it. Would this stop us being successful with our application, even with her own doctor submitting a letter to state she is perfectly okay?
I would like to go to NZ for 2 weeks next year to visit my family. I am half kiwi half british but only have UK passport. I have a criminal conviction for drugs from 10 years ago for which i was imprisoned, i have no other convictions since. What are the legalities for me to go for 2week holiday? Could i get an NZ passport?
I am planning a short holiday to the US next year and unsure if I qualify for the via waiver programme. I was give a juvenile caution at the age of 15 for shoplifting (17 years ago). My local police station have told me that details of this caution will have been erased and I do not have to declare it. Could you confirm. Thank you
Hi there. I have had a caution for possession of marijuana which is about 1 year (ish) old. I am currently going through an immigration process for Australia and so far have been successful. However, on the actual visa form, I did not declare the caution as the form asked for convictions and prosecutions - of which I have none. Now I'm applying for a police clearance certificate and the Data Protection Office informed me that cautions will be on the certificate anyway. I've told the company who are 'managing' the visa form etc and they think there will be a problem because we didn't declare it. It's a caution, not a conviction hence why we didn't mention it.
Do you think they will reject the visa? or accept a stat dec. to say why we didn't declare it. Your advice - at this late stage in our application will be much appreciated.
hi i have applied for a au visa i have 2 conviction 1st 1990 handling /which i got 12 months conditional discharge 2nd failing to provide a specimen 12 months ban reduced to 9 after rehabilitation coures and this happend 1 year ago
I submitted a question regarding my daughters heart Murmur and neglected to mention that we are hopefully heading to New Zealand, sorry about that :)
Hi. I have had mu medical and it has gone back to Australia. Someone has mentioned to me that as I have a tattoo I may be asked for further blood tests. The tattoo is only 1 year old. Is this correct?
My 3-month old daughter was diagnosed with a mild non-pathologic heart murmur. The paediatric cardiologist is not able to give a clear prognosis at this young age, but our daughter is COMPLETELY healthy. We understand this may well be referred, but could this be considered valid grounds for rejecting her application?
I am a very hard working 21year old with a diploma. I was granted a working holiday visa earlier this year. Since applying for the visa I have recently covicted of GBH for defending myself and am serving 6 weeks youth detention. Could you advise me on how i would declare this? I have no previous convictions and amazing character references, will all of this stop me entering the country?
I am 20 years old and have just received a 3 month custodial youth detention sentence for GBH, of which I am serving 6 weeeks. I had already been issued with a working VISA for 1 year. Do I have to declare the sentence, and if so, is there any better way that may be looked on with compassion. I don't have any other convictions.| Questions & Answers | |

Passport - I am unsure of your circumstances so cant advise. You can apply for a visa and will almost certainly get it given length of time without conviction. |

will this be a problem? Handled correctly - most probably not. What I would be interested in would be how long ago these offences occurrred and whether or not you have any family connections in Australia. Call me -Richard Gregan, on 0131 625 6906. |

Sorry for delay. She could well be OK for a visa. However all medical matters are judged individually. You could take some advice from your Dr. - asking if he/she thinks it will be a problem. If he is confident feel free to give me a call to discuss further. |

I have heard that this occasionally happens. I know many people who have tattoos and not have this happen though. |

without a prognosis I suspect there could be a problem. I would want as much medical evidence as possible to provide the decision maker with to help them decide in your favour. Feel free to call me - Richard Gregan - 0131 625 6906. |

You should fill in a "change of circumstances" form. |
