Dear Sir / Madam, I would like to emigrate to New Zealand, and would like to know which skills you are currently recruiting, so that i can study one of these and change my career so that i can eventually emigrate. What careers do you require for entrance to your country - bearing in mind that i am single. Thank-you for your help and co-operation in advance. Regards, Angela
My family and I want to live in Australia as soon as possible, my mother-in-law is a resident there. We have looked at skilled migration, and my mother-in-law has an immigration lawyer looking at it from her side, however this way seems to take a bit of time and we were hoping to be there by November 2005. Can you advise if their is a quicker route - eg 4 year temp visa? Or can we go there on a holiday visa while we are waiting for the final decision? we have 2 kids school age and would require them to go to school. thank you.
I have been told that the trade of bricklayer is appearing on the skills in demand in some areas of australia, is this correct
I have applied for a skilled visa. My speciality is IT, at the time of applying, my occupation was in demand. I was assessed a year later at which time it went off the demand list leaving me 5 points short. Now I am left with a dilema of what to do, I have applied for jobs, they want Australian residents or a work permit. Please can tou advise me.
Both partner and myself have been asked to complete meds and up to date police checks, after logging app in January, is this a good sign? Or are medicals generally requested to be undertaken for all applications for temp visas?
My husband and I are in the middle of filling out the paperwork, to get his skills assessed. The internet is a wonderful thing, but there appears to be alot of conflicting information, he is a screen printer and has been for the past 17 years, some agent's say yes he would be granted the assessment and some are saying no. We both feel that it may be better for him to get a job offer, lined up, neither of us are worried about where we live in Australia. Has anyone got any ideas, as to where to go to see whether he could get a job offer lined up.
I am a software profes. and looking to migrate to New Zealand. Therefore would like to know ..how bright are the chances of getting emloyed there and also what are the companies who are basically into this field directly or indirectly? Also, Is it possible to apply for a job from India and go to New Zealand with a job in hand?? And , also how long does it take to complete the process?? I am an Indian
I was wondering if you could give me a bit of advice. I am about to start a Hairdressing course and I also want to apply to migrate to Australia. I read that the 3 years experience has been abolished. Does this mean that I can apply as soon as I pass my exams? My course will be for 2 years - do you think Hairdressing will still be on the MODL then?

The ideal would be a job offer. Second to that would be a registration with an employment agency specialising in your feild - and a letter from the agency detailing upcoming job vacancies.

457 temporary work permits can be run in tandem witha skills application. Call 0845 601 7810 and explain your situation to a registered migration agent. (remember there is no charge for this service!)

yes

The law at time of application generally applies. You need to be granted a visa prior to working.

If this is a temporary visa - as opposed to permanent residence - then yes - this is a good sign and once these documents are submitted and are judged OK - you will recieve your visas.

IT Professionals are required in NZ and different specialities are on the demand lists. To obtain employment you will need to contact employment agencies or prospective employers in NZ. OE Visas are migration experts and are not recruitment consultants. If you acquire a job for NZ from India you will then obtain more points under the general skill process and for a temporary work permit will require sponsorship from the NZ employer. As we are a UK based agency and the Bulk of our applications go thru European offices I am unaware of the current processing times for India.

What has been abolished is the way you obtain recent work experience. If you have been working in an occupation on the SOL then your require 3 out of 4 years work experience to obtain 10 points. This is still required. Also you must show basic criteria by having 12 out of the last 18 months work experience as a hairdresser. In the past TRA gave the applicant a Deeming date when they assessed you as qualified in your trade. The 3 years and 12 months work experience was required over and above the deeming date. Now the deeming date has been abolished. So the years of work experience that TRA use to assess your trade can be used for the 3 and 12. If you are not completing a formal apprenticeship ie, a college qualification in conjunction with working for an employer then you are doing an informal apprenticeship. A hairdresser apprenticeship in aus is working for 4 years in a salon and going to college day release or block release in that 4 years. In your situation after completing your C&G you will need 6 years work experience as a hairdresser before meeting TRA policy. As described you used to need 6 + 12 months to meet basic criteria or 6 + 3 years to obtain the extra 10 points. Under current policy with NO deeming date all you need is 6 years and included in this is your 12 and 3 requirement. If your require a further explanation please contact an OE Consultant. "
