Questions:

Hello. I am a single mom in Canada whose boyfriend of nearly a year lives in England. We have no joint property or accounts at the moment because, for financial reasons, travel back and forth has been greatly hindered. We do plan on marrying in the fall when he comes here to visit us. My question is this: he wants to immigrate after we get married but would it be easier and/or less time consuming for him to stay for an extended visit here and start the process after the wedding or go back to England after and start it from there? Thank-you in advance for any help.
Hope someone can help! Am confused about what they mean by the value of money, goods and assets which we intend to bring into Australia. (Question 32 in form 47SP)....we are planning on moving back to my native aus (partner UK) and want to know why they ask this????
I`m stdent visa holder for 2 years and I am in defacto relationship with an Australian citizen who sponsor me.I`m legal maried and I have my daughter in my own country. Can I get visa under Defacto relationship in my case or before application I must divorce acual legeal husband.
proof - living/bills or bank?
Defacto Visa - right choice? I hope someone can help.
My partner is from NZ and has been in the UK for 4years and living with me for most of that time. We have 2 children ages 4 and 2 years. She took them back to NZ 2 months ago for a holiday and to see her family and I am due to go out there for 6 weeks and we were coming back after the Christmas period. However, she now tells me that she has found a house to rent and is moving in there and does not wish to return to the UK. She would like me to emigrate to NZ. after I have visited for 6 weeks. As I am unsure whether or not I would like to emigrate and also if I would be eligible as I am a builder/plasterer with over 15 yrs experience I have not formal qualifications. If I do not emigrate I will not be able to be with my children as she is refusing to bring them back to the UK. Can she keep my children away like this without my permission?
I hope you can advise. My partner and I are British and have been in a permanent same-sex relationship for 10 years. (We have joint ownership of property/joint bank accounts/wills etc. that support this). After several trips to Australia, we both would like to live/work there. He works for an international Marketing/Sales company and has the opportunity of transferring out to the Sydney office to work. We have looked at many sites and are confused over the rules applying for same-sex dependants. Am I able to be included on his visa application as his dependant and could I work there?
I am in a de facto relationship with an australian but am living in england. If I move to australia can my children come too?
my partner is applying for a skilled migrant visa , i am his defacto wife if the visa is granted are there any differences/ restrictions in the visa i will be granted compared to his? also would a wife have the same problem - if any - if she were applying with her husband as the lead applicant
I am on holiday in Australia at the moment. I have met a wonderful woman and we want to be together. I will be going back to Manchester in July and I need to know where I go to apply for the prospective spousal visa in Manchester. Do you have an address of a place for me to start this procedure. Thank you for your help. Denis

This will help the deciding officer ensure your status as de-facto and to ensure you wont be a drain on the state.

subject to proving your de-facto status, plus health, character and other criteria you do not have to be officaly divorced to qualify for a partner visa.
proof - living/bills or bank?

I'm planning to apply for defacto. By the time I apply, we will have been together for nearly 2 years and we will have 6 months proof of living together in our own place (bills and everything), followed by 4 months travelling(do I need to keep accommodation receipts for this?!? - we'll be moving around so we won't have accom?! Please say this counts!) and a joint bank account for 1 year. Is this all enough to prove defacto?

I have a Australian girlfiend. We've been together for 2 years, living with my parents for last 18 months. She is returning to Aus in February. I want to be there by May at the latest. As we have been living with my parents we don't have household bills with our names on, only bank accounts and mobiles, but even then they aren't joint. Will we have enough info to prove our relationship? Photos and proof of holidays abroad (1 to Aus) can be provided. If not right choice now, can I go out on Working Hol Visa and apply for defacto when out there? (again will be living with her parents)

You are in quite a complex situation. I advise youcontact either a family lawyer or a migration agent. I am available for advice and to refer you to an NZ based solicitor - richard@my-oe.com

Yep – subject to certain conditions relating to “child custody” laws and the Hague Convention.

Really the only restriction is that the principal applicant has to enter the country first. All other rights are equal between couples.
