Questions:

I have been offered a tenure-track teaching job in the US liberal arts college, and the college will be arranging my visa. I have seen a property I would very much like to purchase, and would be able to do this without taking out a mortgage. I was wondering if buying a house in the States before emigrating would help or hinder the visa process.
How do I validate my visa (for immigration) to Australia?
How long does the Australian Government keep your bond? Is there usually a delay on returning? How is it paid back?
My friend, her husband, and thier son recently were granted Permenant residency in Australia. They went on the skilled migrant svisa, but only his skills were assessed. He has now asked her to leave. Does she have to leave the country, and if so does that automatically mean he will get custody of their son?
My boyfriend had applied for an immigrant visa specifically under Skilled Designated Area Sponsored Subclass 139. The latest requirement was the Assurance of Support which he needed to accomplish before December 7, 2006. He was able to accomplish this and his sponsors were interviewed in Australia. A few days ago his sponsors in Australia were notified asking for the payment of the bond. They gave him/them 14 days to be able to pay the bond. May questions are: 1. Is the requirement for payment of the bond an assurance that the visa is approved and will be realeased soon? If so,how long will it take for the visa to be released upon payment? 2. Should the bond be paid even before visa approval or denial? 3. Will the bond be refunded in case the visa is denied?
Hello, my wife and I are considering New Zealand. We have 4 kids, but the oldest is 18 and a student. Would he have to apply separately or can he come as part of the family? What chance would he have if he applied separately? He's a qualified football coach and lifeguard, if that helps!

Gud day! Just how difficult it is get SRI VISA. What matters should I be very careful of when applying for SRI? I graduated with honors from a respectable school in the Philippines with a degree in Mass Communications. And I've been working for 10 years now. MY IELTS score has always been 7.0. I'm 32 years old. I'm married with a a 7 year-old daughter. What are my chances? Thank you so much and GODBLESS
Hi There My Partner, myself and my 16 month old daughter have been given the chance to emigrate to Australia, Myself and my partner have a bad credit rating, do they actually carry out a credit score on you or do they just ask about your financial situation? We have a house but we have been giving a job offer to be their in 2 months. We were thinking about just handing our keys to the bank and going. Obviously this could effect my application and I am worried about it. Thanks

If we ae talking about "bonus points" for a skilled visa - it is 1 year. The money is repaid after that time. In my experience it is gentrally 7 to 10 days for processing.

No - she doesnt have to leave Australia. No - he will not automaticlly get custody of the child. I would suggest they consult a family solicitor.

1. It is not a certainty the visa will be issued - but it is highly likely. The timescales to issue my office currently experiences are 2 -4 weeks. 2. No bond paid = no visa issued. You must pay this first. IF the visa is subsequently refused the bond will be refunded in full.

This is an issue of dependency. 18 year old children who are in full time education ARE considered dependent and therfore part of the family unit. i.e. 1 x complete family application. The crux of this part of the application is to prove beyond any doubt that the child IS dependent.

I am not a debt expert. I know that the course of action you suggest will result in credit problems in Australia. I suggest you speak to an insolvency practitioner before you decide to do anything. I would be prepared to advise you on an migration matters (Richard Gregan - 0131 625 6906)
