Questions:
Have put off applying for the past two years now due to being pessimistic and "sure" there would be a stumbling block! Now its a case of now or never. Myself, my partner and four children. We have owned a small business for 5 years as artists and framers. Partner fully skilled in all aspects of picture framing, he is an advanced GCF recognised by the Fine Art Guild in the UK. This involved accredited tests. I am an artist, contracted to a large publishing house, again no formal qualifications. My partner has very mild asthma requiring no regular medication. My son has more severe asthma requiring daily medication. He also suffers from allergies and has been admitted to hospital 4-5 times a year, usually just overnight to monitor after an allergic reaction. He had a balloon dilation in his aorta when he was a baby, this has been fine since and only requires a check up every two years. Three of the children are on the talented and gifted list (don't know if that makes any difference but guess everything is worth a try). I have a brother in Perth WA6060 who has been a citizen for ten years and been in constant employment. My mother is also a citizen and though currently in the UK has spent most of the past 17 years in Australia, Manly/Sydney. Both are willing to sponsor. Finally, we would be hoping to land with around £50-70,000. Would the health problems and lack of qualifications be an issue? Thank You

Hi we are hopeing to start the emigration process soon for australia, we dont see any problems with the process as my wife is a well qualified nurse, however we do have a lot of debt, we will clear some when we sell the house but will still have significant credit card debts, and were wondering what would happen if we left without paying them, and if the debt we have would be an issue with our application, would welcome any advice, thanks.

It can be held against you under the "character criteria" - People do get away with this from time to time. It does affect your credit rating in Australia. You may want to call me to discuss other options. Richard Gregan 0131 625 6906. |

this is a "how long is a piece of string" question. Sit down with one of my staff for an hour and we can give you a pretty good estimate of costs and how much Cannad would require you to take in. (Canada are fairly unique amongst UK outbound destinations in that they do specify an amount of liquid cash to come into the country with and it varies depending upon Province.) |
