my boyfriend was arrested for possession of a class A drug last year (3 ecstacy tablets), he was later cautioned and fined £50. we are planning or applying for a nonimmigration visa for the USA as we would like to go on holiday there - do you think he will have any problems being accepted for a visa?
unfortunately i have been deemed criminally inadmissible to canada for a cannabis possesion caution, criminal damage caution and a public disorder caution. i was due to start work in canada on the 16th on an overseas working holiday programme. Are there any ways i can appeal and obtain a ministers permit or TRV? If so what does this process entail and how long would it likely take? many thanks
I received a caution last year for disorderly behaviour. Totally out of character and no previous bad behaviour. Will it affect my chances of obtaining an australian ETA for a 2week holiday?
Hi, I am planning on applying for a work visa in the usa. I was arrested 3 years ago and charged with breach of the peace. I pleaded "not guilty" and this plea was accepted as it was acknowledged that i had been wrongfully arrested and the case thrown out. I was wondering if this is likely to have any effect on my application. Thanks
Hi i am applying for a Canadian temporary work permit visa. I have a recent (1 month ago) speeding conviction where i received a driving ban for 14 days. Will this affect my application?

i am looking to immigrate to new zealand with my boyfriend next year after completion of my nurse training.unfortunately i was involved in incident with my ex boyfriend who has pressed charges on the grounds of ABH (superficial scratch to neck)will this affect my chances of immigration. I have never been in trouble with the police before/after and have a clean lisence.
hi im planning on moving to australia on a skilled visa (carpenter) i start my course next year and plan to do 2/3 years study / work experiance to make sure i can apply gfor skilled visa, on the weekend just gone i was arrested by police and picked up a caution for possesion of a class a drug. will this affect a) my chances of getting a skilled visa in the future b) stop me entering the country on a 3 month holiday visa The police said that the caution will wipe of my record in 3 years. This is my only blemish on my record and ive never been arrested before! Thanks :) Paul
I am hoping to go to Australia as part of my gap year, unfortunately 2 years ago I go a 2 year conditional discharge for being transported in a stolen car and also for being in the company of a group who were intend on breaking into a house, I walked away from the scene without taking part but was charged with 'the intent' I also got a drinking and driving ban which was nearly 2 years ago. Since then I have stayed out of trouble but now concerned about getting a tourist visa for Australia.

On a point of law I would say you have no problem entering either NZ or OZ. I must say the cops are slackers though. Might me worth a phone call to them to sort it out?

There are such avenues open - BUT they cost plenty. Call Luke Jeffrey on 0131 625 6920 for further advice if you want to spend out on this with the chance still being refused.

You should mark it down. In my experience you should expect to get the ETA granted.

I think you will be fine if this is the only entry on your conviction history.

As the charge is quite serious - even if at the lower end of thescale I would recomend getting some help with this part. You need to convince the decision maker you are not a danger to any NZer. Call me for advice - Richard Gregan 0131 625 6906

It could affect both visa applications. I would be surprirsed if a small amount of the drug was involved this would stop you getting a permanent visa. Call Richard Gregan on 0131 625 6906 for advice.

An online application will almost certainly fail. You will need to supply evidence of good character and explain the circumstances via a paper based application which I would give a reasonable chance of success given the circumstances as you outline them.
