Hello, I have a child who is nearly 18yrs but does not live with me he lives with his mother, when I fill an application form in to emigrate, do I have to put him on the form, is he classed as a dependant child when he reaches 18 and over and does not live with me.
On the 'Background Declaration' form for Canada, question 9 on page 1 asking if anyobe has had any serious disease of physical or mental disorder, is this different to the medical form, for example would you say no at this stage if your party has had things like fractures or post natal depression, things like that. And mention those on the medical form
Really hope you can help.
My business has offered the opportunity for me to go to Oz to work for 12-24 months. I'm keen to accept and my wife and two kids are also up for it. The thing I'm worried about is that my wife (now in her mid thirties) was convicted of a minor fraud offence when she was in her teens. The offence related to the unauthorised use of a cheque book for a minimal amount.
To avoid embarrassment down the line with my employer I really need to know if her record will affect our plans?
What is the minimum point required to qualify for immigration

Your children are minors. Any questions the Embassy has relating to their application will be asked of you. |

Genrally yes. Some serial bankrupt people could be knocked back under "character". If you are going as a business person there would be a major, if not insurmountable, problem. |

Sorry this is specific advice and not an FAQ. Call a registered migration agent for help. On this site you can purchase DIY assistance advice - or have the full application handled on your behalf. |

I dont think it will alter things drastically in the short to medium term. I have had "crystal ball malfunctions" in the past though. I would suggest if you qualify now - apply now. Over the decade plus I have been in this field it has consistenly got more and more difficult for the average migrant to migrate! |

TRA certificates do not go out of date. Go for it. |

Technically the child is no longer dependant when he or she turns 18 and is no longer in full time education. |

This is an FAQ section - not a DIY assistance package -(which we do sell on this site) The medical form comes in about 3 years (at current processing time) when they ask you to visit a panel doctor. The questions on the form are for "screening" purposes. |

It probably will not. You may want some help in drafting a submission covering the offence if DIMA raise the matter with you. |
