We are about to Migrate to Australia soon and would like to know how the credit rating in the UK is used in Australia. Both of our credit ratings at the moment is not very good and have been refused credit on many occasions plus with a lot of debt hanging over us. My concern is that when we arrive in Australia and try to build our life up again & start fresh. Will the credit rating in the UK have any effect on us when we are to buy our Property etc? We have thought of the road of Bankruptcy. Again... will this have an effect in Australia when we try to build our life up again? I would be grateful if you can advise us appropriately.

No - it does not always follow that "wTR" is issued. If you have skills in demand you should get Permanent residence as soon as you are employed.

Yes you can. Things could get tricky if the holiday was "overly long" or you changed your principal worldwide residence. If it is a 3 week holdiday - go for it and enjoy yourself.

Ideally you should sort it out here pre going. The only real impediments to this working out just fine are; Health, chararacter and child custody for the children. Call me for advice - Richard on 0131 625 6906.

There are some ways to keep them in Australia for the bulk of the period you are settling in. Unless they qualify in their own right - (business, Investment etc) Generally however they cannot migrate till you are settled and they meet Balance of family.

Yes - you should qualify. You could sponsor your parents after a qualifying period if they meet balance of family test etc.

I would need to know more about the circumstances - child custody seems to be an issue (i.e. the childs natural Dad may have to sign a release) call Richard Gregan on 0131 625 6906.
