Questions:

I have a friend who is owed money, the person who owes him the money refuses to pay and spends most of the year in Spain. Can the Spanish authorities help in anyway?
while working in germany for 3 years i clocked up a few speeding fines. on my background check from germany this may show up. will this affect my visa application.
I have a few driving offences to my name. One was drink driving 6 years ago and I have 4 speeding fines over the last 6 years. will this affect my character asssesment for a visa? I have no other criminal convictions at all.
Hello! I was served with a private summons for harrassment by a person whose friendship with me turned sour and subsequently convicted with a fine. Although the offence took place in Dec 2004, I only just got convicted in July 2006. Will this have a serious impact on my work visa or PR application in any way? In my mitigation plea in court, I have expressed remorse. And personally, after all that crap, I will not do such a silly thing again. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Cheers!
Whilst we were awaiting our medicals for Australia, my wife has had an op for a low-grade malignancy. She has been told she needs no further treatment but will need follow-up for five years. Do you feel this will prevent us from emigrating? I am a bricklayer and the rest of our application has gone smoothly.
I am a UK citizen in the processf emigrating to Sydney. In 2004 i went to France for weight loss surgery (laproscopic gastric band) which i paid for privately. Will this cause any problems getting a visa ?
I have just received my police check in readiness to apply for a working visa in New Zealand, my wife has already got a contract to work there, I have found that I ahve two cautions on my record one for fraud (I sold a copied DVD on ebay which i thought was an original) and a caution for drink driving both from last year (Not a good year from me) Would this cause my visa application from being refused?
In regard to the statement 2 questions below - Australia does not accept people with type 1 diabetes - surely this can't be true?
I have diabetes which is very well controlled. I will be applying for a working holiday visa for Australia in the next couple of weeks and will be fully prepared to undertake a medical. Bearing in mind that I'm diabetic, what tests will I be required to have? How long will it take for me to get my visa? Have you ever come accross a case where someone with diabetes has been refused, even if their diabetes is under control? I'd really appreciate some advice, I'm very worried.
I want to migrate to Canada. however, recently I have been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Australia does not accept people with Type 1 Diabetes. I would like to know which countries can I migrate to with such a medical condition out of USA, UK and Canada?

No - an action has to be raised in this country. If an order is made by the court then it can in throry be enforced in Spain.

Generally speaking "speeding" wont affect an application.

No I would think not.

Each issue of character is looked at individually and all circumstances surrounding the offending is examined. I have to say I have never had anything similar to this personally and cant comment from experience. The sentence for the offending is often the guide used by the deciding officer to determine whether or not this offence will exclude you under section 501 of the Migration Act.

I trust your wife is recovering well. This can certainly affect your application. Cancer (and all medical conditions) are judged individually. The question the deciding officer will be asking is; How much will this person cost Australian medicare to treat? If the answer is "lots" - then you will probably be refused. If the answer is "not much" then you would be approved. The deciding officer will probably refer the matter to HSA for a medical opinion. Best of luck to your family.

If you explain it well enough I think you would be OK

Australia does accept people with all sorts of illnesses including types 1 & 2 diabetes. It is a matter of how well controlled they are, what the treatment costs are and what the prognosis is.

Providing you are well controlled - you will be fine in my experience. As a WHM visa holder you will not fall under the reciprocal healthcare agreement for your insulin though.

It is not true to say Australia does not accept people with type 1 diabetes. Canada also does. Each case is judged on its individual merits. If your medical situation is likely to cost alot of money to your new country - then yes - they will refuse your application. I am careful who I take on as clients and if your medical situation was borderline I would refer you for a medical opinion first.
