Questions:
is it possible to emigrate to USA or Canada as retired people? we have sufficient money to pay our way, as we have occupational and state pension. Thank you
I am applying for an australian 136 visa. I will be sending my application this week. I have skills on the MODL. Just wondering if you know current waiting times for MODL applications.
Thanks
After having a bad period of employment with a company that had a bad reputation (no longer trading) I took the decision to omit this 18 month period from my CV. This was purely as the reputation of this company was so bad I beleived it would hinder any job application and nothing to do with my own work performance. I have now got a job offer in Australia and have been made aware that as well as requiring a copy of my professional qualifications, written references are required. I have given three good references to my prospective employer and intend to use the same people. I am concerned now that if immigration check too far into the references they will discover that the start and finish dates of two of my employment periods are not accurate. The references are to be submitted in writing on company headed paper with an outline of roles carried out and periods of employment. Can you advise as to how far these references are checked i.e do the telephone the writer or the company headquarters or is it simply a record that is unlikely to be scrutinised? All with regard a 457 application. Thank You
Do we require a bond, or a certain amount of money in the bank to obtain permanent visas into Australia
I have dual canadian / british nationality. Can I emigrate to canada with my husband who is british?
My wife has been offered a job with her firm in Sydney, and I have a trade (paint sprayer). Do we need to apply seperately for Australia or can we do this jointly ?
as a staff nurse does having previous ccj's count against you when applying for residency, if they are still outstanding?
We are a family of 5 and are hoping to emigrate to Australia in 2 - 3 years. I am a nurse and my husband a print finisher. We are going to sell our house to have the funds we need, but how much money is a sensible fugure to give us a good start and settle down. (we are thinking of renting for the first year) ?
I want to apply for a residency status in canada. i reside here in the usa for ten years and still waiting for labor cert. I am in bad debt and want to apply for bankruptcy but i just want to be sure that it will not affect my application in canada. please, answer my question. i need help. thanks... jim
Hi! What a great site by the way... Ok. We would like to move to Texas and work there. Husband age 37 is a Farrier. This is a skilled and highly regulated job in the UK, requiring a 4 year apprenticeship and DipWCF qualification (degree level) He's self employed currently. Me - age 36. I run my own (successful!) internet business and my highest qualification is a post grad Certificate in Management - plus 7 years of management experience and 5 years of management training experience. Ideally, we'd like to move to Texas and set up businesses ourselves from scratch. Alternatively, we have many friends there and my husband could take up an offer of work (although his very strong preference is self employment - there's a real demand for his skills there and on a recent holiday he was asked MANY times to come back and work for a ranch!) We've sold our house and have £75000 total equity (Although some of this will be needed to set up hubby with new van and tools etc) What route is there for us? We'd love to go to Texas, but friends have told us that only Europe is feasible. Thanks in advance. Georgie| Questions & Answers | |

No. These countries do not have "retirement schemes". If you have large sums of money (100's of thousands) it is possible to find some ways in! |

circa 4 months in my experience - though we have had some nurses come through in 6 weeks in the past few months. |

You need to comply with DIMA's request. You will have to explain to your C/O why you have done what you have done. You may need some professional representation. Call Richard Gregan on 0131 625 6906 for assistance if you decide to go down this route. |

For certain types of visas you do. These are either skilled visas where you are relying on 5 points for the lodging of a $100K bond - or an investment visa - or certain parent visas. You are not required to have any minimum amount for most of the other visas. Common sense dictates you have a "reasonable" sum when arriving. |

Your wife would probably get a temporary visa (4 years) - which you could join her on. You could be eligible for a permanent visa. I often recomend people do both visas! Call me for advice 0131 625 6906 |

It can count against you under the "character" criteria - if it comes to light. |

I Have a semi golden rule - "dont sell a house till you have the visa! Nurses are in demand and printing trades are doing OK. Get a professional opinion as to your eligibility, a reasonable timeline and a cost breakdown. We do this for free on our site. fill in a form and you get a no obligation assesment with a registered migration agent. |

Canada has the right to decide that your bankruptcy is a matter to consider against "character" - so - get a lawyer! |
