Questions:

I am a serving police officer in a UK force. I have 22 years service and I am 42 years of age. I am married with two children. Would I be able to seek employment as a police officer in the USA I am looking at North or South Carolina. Would this qualify as a skilled occupation? Would I need to contact the police force there and have a job offer prior to starting the process? Any advice would be grateful recieved

Hi. I'm 33 and a self employed copy writer, hubby's 25 & a fork lift driver/warehouse op. We're looking at emigrating to Australia or USA & as we're not on the SOL & only have about £20K to take with us we'd like to know what options are open to us. Thanks.

I work for the fire service here in the uk as an admin assistant and my partner of 4 years is a landscaper. what are the chances of us emigrating to spain or america?
My husband is a prison officer is this classed as skilled work in either new zealand, canada or Austrailia.
I have left the UK but I am slowly paying my credit card off over there via my bank account in the UK - what will happen if I stop paying this credit card, will the authorities be able to locate me in my new country of residence?
i work as an office manager, with a team for 4 admin staff and 14 on the road engineers which i coordinate. i see office manager is on the SOL, whats quals/ certificates fo you need to pass on the points system ?? thanks
HELLO, i work as a HR advisor , i have been in this postion for the last 3 years, in 2005 a passed my CIPD level 3 ( certificate in personnel practice). I am hoping to apply to emigrate to OZ at the end od this year. I will hopefully be starting my (CIPP) training certificate in the Jan 2007. Are my qualifactions enough to apply for a skilled visa ?? if not do you know what level qualification you need in HR. Thanks for you help

Student visas or retrain in something that is on SOL.

You will need some P/Q work experience and a job offer - thereafter it should be no problem assuming health and character are all OK.

Army service alone is not considered as it is not on the NOC list.

Spain is no problem as you have EU rights of abode. USA is unlikely with your skill sets.

It can be in NEw Zealand.

This is a VETASSES assesment. The base requirement is; "AQF diploma or higher qualification OR at least 3 years relevant experience." Good Luck.

HR Manager is the only occupation on the SOL that comes close to your job. There must a degree component to your qualification for this be acceptable to the assessing body.
