Questions:

I'm 37 years old and planning to emmigrate to Canada. I was diagnosed as having hypertension and currently taking medications. Will my health condition affect the approval of my application for permanent residency?

i have submitted police reports x rays 7 weeks ago would they ask for these reports if they were not happy with your application and how long is it normal to wait if your on modl
I do not have a conviction history, are they looking for anything else? I.e. could there be something on my police file which is not a conviction which could stop me passing the police checks for Canada? What type of background checks do they carry out?
RE my question about arrest but with a pardon. Firstly thanks for your reply. My application is not in the hands of INS and I jave simply filled out the application and wrote a letter which I have attached explaining the incident. Is there any way I could try to put accross my case and explain my circumstances. I have been to my local police station on two occasions now asking for any information whcih I may be able to access about the incident and I have been told that there is nothing at all
What kind of police check do you need for PR status to Canada? What are they looking for?
please could you tell me what the average price of a medical is, thanx
My husband & I would like to emigrate to Australia, however he has a conviction from 20 years ago. He served 2 years of a 4 year sentance at a young offenders prison. Would this automatically rule him out? He now has his own successful business and has not been in any trouble since. We would like to set up our business in Australia and would have sufficient funding to do so.
I am considering migrating to Australia and am enquiring about my daughter. I would like to ask you a medical question. My daughter has a haemangioma (raised birth mark) on her chest area and has medical reviews every couple of years. She is only 5 years old now but when she reaches maturity (18-21 years old) this haemangioma may need attention (corrective surgery). My question is if I move to australia can her medical attention continue and be assessed in Australia upto maturity and would they follow the procedures if need be as in the UK. I am not sure of the medical procedures overseas or costs. Please help.
hi, i am a 21 year old and just graduated with a Bsc honours degree. A year ago i was convicted of drink driving and had a 12 month ban, only getting my license back last week. How will this affect my chances of working/travelling in the USA and Australie? Cheers

If your condition is well controlled and your outlook is good - probably not. See earlier FAQ's re indivisual cases and costs of treatment etc.

Generally - they request Police & Medical when satisfied with the rest of the application. 4 to 6 months on MODL is about right.

Convictions/Warnings etc is what they are looking for.

If there is a record on your conviction history you have a problem - if there isnt you dont.

It varies from around £150 to £230 from my most recent clients.

No - it would not rule him out. He will face an uphill struggle but I would be confident of putting a good case forward for him. Call Richard Gregan 0131 625 6906. for experienced assistance in this type of application.

I have never dealt with this particular condition. I can say that the Australian authorities will look at your situation and make a decision based on likely costs to the Australian Health community. You may like to run this by her consultant or your GP and ask what likely costs there will be. Make a migration decision when you have this information.

For a J1 I have experience of this being a "jumpable" hurdle. Similarly, people with DIC have got Australian visas.
