I am applying for a spouse visa and I am classed as obese being 6 pounds over the overweight section. I have never had any health problems and I am 22 and i was wondering how this will effect my chances of obtaining a visa
I've been invited to apply for a visa for New Zealand and am in the process of getting my medical and police certificates. I've arranged a doctors appointment and xray and been told I need to bring completed forms - they think it's a Form 160. Is this the correct form for New Zealand and where can I get hold of this? I can't find it on their immigration website and can only find reference to NZIS 1007 certificates. Help!!

Would suffering from CFS for past 10 years affect a visa application to Australia even if this doesn't necessitate medication nor medical assistance?
I have a back problem which i apparently have had since birth, it mainly plays up in the cold weather and i take painkillers for it, also my son takes ritalin whilst at school, and only takes on school days, he is 15 now and is due to fin school next year, would these problems stop us applying?,
I received a kidney transplant 18 months ago, everything going well. I assume that this would be viewed as a possible drain on Oz resources in the future so I would be refused a visa. Is it worth applying or not? cheers, Kev
If or when we get our temporary visa issue which would be under Skilled sub calls 137 how long do you generally get before you need to enter Australia?

Hi - I would say that you stand a good chance of lodging a succesful application. You would need to back up the application with a sufficient amount of evidence to show you have become well and as with any "health" criteria in igration the key factor is - you will not cost the Australian health community any moeny. Please feel free to call me directly to speak on this issue. I would say this is an issue that should not be handled "DIY" but should have a professional input.

Well, firstly the rules on health are relatively flexible when it comes to spouse visas - or at least more flexible than with classes that have no right of appeal. That being said - it cant be too hard to lose 6 pounds can it?

The Dr's are confusing you for an Australian applicant. Some panel Dr's do both countries - or some even do Canada as well. So a 160 is the Oz medical form. The Dr should have the NZ ones with them.

Yes they need all documentary evidence of identity.

I have never lost a case with a diabetic. I would not take on as a client soomeone who is so seriously ill that they would become a drain on Australia's health services. Diabetes is a problem but ususally one that can be ovcercome in terms of satisfying the Health Requirement""."
Would suffering from CFS for past 10 years affect a visa application to Australia even if this doesn't necessitate medication nor medical assistance?
I am not sure what cfs is - Medical refusals are common and there are some hard and fast rules you need to stick to- I am available for a free consultation on 0131 625 6906 for medical matters.

I am not a Doctor and so can only give advice resulting forom my experience with clients who have similar conditions. The back problem doesnt sound like too much of a problem. Ritalin has caused refusals in the past.

Well - this is not as black and white as you may think. My answer would be sometimes yes - sometimes no! I would recomend a pre lodgement"" check by an Australian Dr with experience of this type and getting an opinion from a Migration Agent who specialises in this. There is a world wide acknowledged expert based in Sydney who I would refer you to should you decide to proceed further."
