Questions:

If a family of 5 migrate to Australia on a 457 visa, do all the family have to enter Australia together, or can two of the children enter later? The two children are students and 20 and 18 years old. Also would they be able to enter Australia from another country or would they have to leave from their country of residence (being the UK). Hope this makes sense. Thankyou
im going to apply for permanent residency in Australia soon, back in 1995 i overstayed my visitors visa by 3 months, ive been back since a few times without any problems, do you think this will affect my application in anyway?
Hello, I have received an email from the DIMA tittled "Pre grant visa" stating they would like me to take a Health undertaking and to report for a medical within 4 weeks if I am granted the visa and also they would like certified copies of all passports included the application. At the end of the the email they have stated an entry deadline date. They further go on to say that this date will not be able to be extended. My question is that the fact they have asked me to take a health undertaking and have requested certified copies of passports, plus given me an entry deadline date, does this mean I am more or less been granted the visa, and if so how long does this decission take once i have signed and submitted the health undertaking form & certified copies of all our passports.
My wife is under HSMP in U.K. and I am her dependent here. As a process she need to apply for an extension of her leave to remain this october. However in February I was caught by the revenue officer in london underground for travelling beyond my valid ticket and through the magistrates court I was asked to pay the fine, which I did. I want to know if this is going to be classified as a criminal conviction. Is it going to affect the leave to remain application. i do not have any criminal record.
My husbands ex-wife is emigrating to Australia with his son. He makes monthly payments to the CSA for child maintenance. What are the implications of her moving abroad with his son, does he still need to make the payments, can he be re-assessed to make lower payments or does he have to carry on with the same payment arrangement?
Are there specific critria for people of retirement age to apply for visa for living part time in Australia? How can we purchase a property to meet our holiday needs?
how long do you have to leave between tourist visas?
Hello, I have applied for a perm visa and have submitted the forms for my all of us...(Me, wife, 2 daughters). we have completed our medical and x-rays. I was asked to re-take my x-ray as i believe they found a shaddow in my first x-ray. this has been done. I also at that time had high blood pressure but was refered to a consultant and got the all clear. all medical reports have been sent of to the DIMA. Police checks have also been carried out and sent. Sponsership money has been paid by my sponser to CentreLink. How long does it take from this point onwards for the final decisssion to be made. I can't see that they would want any info as all have been provided and is of satisfactory standard to the DIMA. Is there a long way to go yet. I would be gratefull if you could answer this question for me please. Thank you. Just for more info... I submitted the forms in Nov 2005 & medical was requested in April 2006. all police/medial forms ar now with DIMA by August 2006.
i have just applied for a 136 skilled independent visa for australia. provided i am successful i will move as soon as i get the visa. my mother wants to come with us but i believe we have to be resident in australia for 2 years before we can apply for a contributory parent visa. i suppose my mum can come for visits on a tourist visa for the 2 years - how long does it have to be between visits? is it easy to get a 12 month visitors visa? after the two years are up and we apply for the parent visa is she still allowed to travel for visits on a tourist visa while the parent visa is pending? any help you can give will be greatly appreciated!!
I am a UK Citizen a (certified Bookkeeper) my husband is South African. We have been living in the UK for 7 years, he has permanant leave to stay. My Mother-in-law who is now widowed is a Australian Citizen she left South Africa in 1990. We are both over 50 and employed, however we are extremely worried about my mother in law who lives by herself and has had a stroke. The Minister of her church does keep us informed but we both wonder if it would be possible for us both to live and work in Australia under a family visa and how difficult would it be applying for this type of visa. I do have a brother in law who lives in Adelaide but due to his own personal problems he is not able to live with his mother. Can you advise me J Holmes

You will have served a two year "Ban". It can effect "character" issues in deciding to grant the visa but in my experience this is rare. You should be OK.

Do you know Cherie Blair did a similar thing a few years ago? You should be fine with this - dont worry.

Ring the CSA.

There is a retirement visa - with fairly onerous financial requirements. As a tourist - who goes to Australia for up to 6 months per year - you can buy property with a "FIRB" (foreign investment review board) approval. This is usually given as a matter of course if you buy "off plan".
how long do you have to leave between tourist visas?

technially - 1 hour would doit. Immigration may question you if they suspect your reasons for entry are not tourism.

Hello, OIn the face of it it seems you would qualify for a carers visa. Feel free to ring Richard Gregan on 0131 625 6906. Thisis not a common visa.
