i am a serving police officer in Northern Ireland and my wife and myself are considering moving to Austraila. we are both looking to continue our careers in our currnet fied if we move.My wife is a pharmacy technician. How do i get started ?
Hi, my husband and i are hoping to emmigrate to oz in the next couple of years. He has 4 driving offences: driving without an L plate at the age of 17yrs, driving with no insurance at 18yrs, drink driving ban at 27 yrs and driving while banned at 27yrs. He is now 39 years of age. Do all these have to be declared? Also, at the age of 16 i was convicted of assault on a small child. I got a 2 year supervision order and was ordered to pay £200. I also have a driving offence from 1995 (driving without insurance), i am now 35. Neither one of us has been in any trouble since, are these offences likely to cause us any real problems with the emmigration process? Thanks.
We are considering emigrating to Queensland. I am an Australian Citizen by decent and have an OZ passport. I have been with my husband for 12 years and married for 6 years, we have 2 children & number three on the way! My husband has a criminal record for theft of one item when he was 19 and for fighting in a pub around the same time (teenager). He is now 31 and has a complete clean reord since then. He has had a very good job in the oil indusrty for the last 8 years with an excellent income. My father lives in queensland, would this help? Do you think the record would be a problem for us?

I would like to emigrate to Canada in the future. I have had blood tests in the UK and I do not have HIV, syphillis, Hep C and I have been vacinated against Hep B.
Unfortunately my father has Multiple Sclerosis. He will not be emigrating to Canada. However would this affect my application / medical. Obviously I would have to disclose this information but would it affect my chances of entering Canada.
Secondly do the Canadian immigration authorities request to see your family doctor notes or do they just rely on the medical?
I was arrested last year for disorder and given a Fixed Penalty Notice for disorder (£80): Public Order Act Section 5 which does not result in a criminal conviction or criminal record but does show up on the Police National Database. Will this affect my application for a US J2 student internship Visa?
My girlfriend and I are planning to immigrate to Australia. I am an Australian citizen (by Decent), She is swedish, but has undergone a bone marrow transplant for chronic myloid leukaemia 11 months ago. She is in remission, but will require blood tests for up to 5 years post transplant. Though she there in no sign of any leukaemic cells, and is essentially 'cured', could this still affect her visa application (she's applying fro a De-facto Visa)?
My partner and I want to apply to emigrate to australia. He has a spent conviction (17 years ago) of ABH for which he received a 1 year suspended sentence and a £1000 fine. Obviously we will declare this in our application and we would like to know how this will affect our chances. He has never been in trouble since.
I notice on a previous posting a recommendation of having a pre-lodgement health check with an australian doctor re a kidney transplant. My husband has a chronic kidney disease undergoing treatment and again we are trying to judge whether it is worth us sending off our skills visa or if it a waste of time and money! How do we go about doing such a check?? Do we chase our dream or not!
Since the birth of my son 11 years ago i have suffered from high blood pressure which is completely under control with medication -- would this jeopodise my chances of relocationg to Aus| Questions & Answers | |

Neither of your jobs are ont he SOL (skilled occupation List) - however the SOuth Australia and West Australia Police forces have recently run UK recrutment campaigns. If you are accepted you can migrate. I recomend starting by contacting these organisations. |

ALL Offenceds must be declared. Australia often look more disfavourably at not declaring offences than the offences themselves. Going in your favour is that these are relatively minor offences and a long time ago.I dont think these would effect you being able to self represent in your application. |

The fact you are a citizen makes your Father's residence in Australia immaterial. I dont think the past offending will cause too many problems. |

I am glad your command of the English Language allows you to use a dictionary and cut and paste facilities. I like to look at things differently. If you want black and white here it is verbatim- Conduct contrary to honesty or good morals... which is just not as good as my first answer in my humble (and not charged for) opinion my friend! Good Luck with your migration plans. |

Parental medical conditions will not effect your application. Panel Doctors CAN (but rarely do) write to your GP. |

Yes - it almost certainly will cause problems. I do not know whether she will ultimately be failed. You may like to call me - RIchard Gregqn 0131 625 6906 or speak to someone near you - properly qualififed and experienced in this type of case. |

I would say you have a good chance of success - properly represented. THere is always a chance of being failed under "character" for this type of offence but the length of time since the conviction goes in your favour. Call Richard Gregan 0131 625 6906 for assistance. I would suggest this is not a DIY case. |

Always chase your dreams! You should get the medical opinion before the skills test. If the medic thinks you will fail you would have wasted your money on the skills assesment. I spend a good proportion of my time on medical and criminal matters - I am available to discuss this at no charge on 0131 625 6906. Richard Gregan |
