Questions:
5 years and 1 month ago I received a police caution (no further charges before or since)for opportunistic minor theft. I understand these are only a problem for 5 years but I wish to visit Australia for 3 weeks in October, but am very worried incase this causes a problem. I also wish to travel to Australia again next year with a friend, but up until recently she has been prescribed methadone. Please can you advise if a police caution that's older than 5 years will be a problem for a tourist visa and also if an ex methadone patient (who is a reformed person now) will have problems due to the methadone history. Many thanks
Five years ago i underwent a quadruple heart bypass operation and have been fine since and in full time work as a heating engineer. Our daughter is a resident in australia should my past opp prevent us from gaining a family visa?
Hello there, We have applied for PR in Australia and my husband had a Kidney removed 17 years ago. Would this pose a problem on our medicals? Could it lead to visa refusal?
hi we are considering emmigrating to australia.in 1995 my husband got done for gbh which he received a fine and was put on conditional discharge for 2 years.this was a result from a fight with his brother! he also suffered depression for a period of 10 months and has not had any treatment now for over 2years.will this affect our application?

I've already lost 2 stone but would still like to lose about another 2 stone although I'm finding it tough going. My BMI is about 28, I'm 45, female & have no health problems. My medical for a skilled federal worker visa for Canada is likely to be within the next 6 months. Can they refuse me if I'm still overweight? Thank you.
I am planning to retire to Thailand, but my criminal records check (UK) shows a conviction for possession of a class B drug in 1974. Will this be a problem when I make my application for a retirement visa to the Thai authorities ?
Hi, I was convicted for possesion of cannabis with intent to supply when I was 16 years old. I recieved a conditional discharge and a fine. I am now 29 and have been in emplyment for 12 years. We (my wife (a senior nurse) and son) are looking to emigrate to Canada. Do you think that the conviction will stop me from doing this? Are juvenile records treated differently? Thanks.

Firstly you have to declare the caution. Methadone is not one I have dealt with in the past and is not one I can give FAQ advice on. The person concerned may wish to ring me - Richard Gregan 0131 625 6906 for some informed advice. |

Not definetly. It will cause questions to be asked and depending upon your prognosis a decision will be made. I have a client who has succesfully applied with similar circumstances. |

All medical matters are subject to many variables. Assuming your husband needs no further treatment and it is not envsioned that he will cost the Australian Health Community any moeny then there is a reasonable chance he will not be refused a visa. |

You will have a problem with both the health and character criteria here. You should appoint a registered migration agent to help you present your case in the best possible light. |

If you have a record - yes. If not - no. |

You must declare it. I will be considered against "character" when deciding upon grant or refusal of your application. |

I dont really understand BMI. I have known people be refused for being obese. 2 stone overweight wouldnt be a dealbreaker in my experience! |

Juvenile records are not treated differntly but they will be viewed as happening a long time ago. I would suggest that this case is not without hope if your circumstances are properly relayed to the deciding officer. |
