Hi,I am hoping to move to USA soon from the UK to be with my fiance. i dont have a good credit rating and have some unpaid debts. I am 45 years of age and wish to emigrateto Australia with my wife and 2 small children. I am British, but lived in Australia from the age of 4 to 16, then my parents (also British) decided to return the family back to England, without applying for citizenship (apparently I would have been eligible at the time?)Is there a category under which I can return, as I appear to be too old, at 45, to apply for emigration in the normal way?
Can I buy a house in Australia whilst on a 2 year trade study course under the student visa scheme.?

Almost impossible. Having a family member in Australia able to sponsor and a degree or similar qualification and/or previous training for an occupation on the list (admin assistant is not on SOL)...may help. |

There is a temporary Retiree visa. I personally do not think it is a good visa for UK residents who are not multi millionaires. It involves investing large sums with a State or Territory of Australia. Call Richard Gregan 0131 625 6906 if you want to go through the conditions. |

I am not an insurance expert but my (limited) experience is that "pre existing" conditions are not covered. |

You need POST QUALIFCATION work experience - 6 months or 1 year minimum depending upon visa type. 3 out of the last 4 years will give you extra points for "recent work experience" - which you may not need depending upon your age. I dont like your chances in skilled employment visa catergories. You could perhaps begin a business which would open several visa options. |

Credit Rating will not usually come into migration law. |

There is a "former resident" visa but that has a s a way for you. You may want to consider skilled entry to NZ or Canada. |

Your credit rating is not checked if you wish to migrate. Funding a £ debt with a $AUD income would be very hard. Suggest you speak to a registered migration agent and a debt expert. |
