I'd just like to say thank you for answering my questions. I hope others find the site as useful as I have. Much appreciated.
Great site - very informative. Can I just ask one question. We have received our 90 day letter requesting updated Police Clearance Certificates, schedule 1 form together with our Right to Permananet Residency Payment. My son was wrongly convicted of using threatening words and behaviour in Dec 2005. In July 2006 this conviction was quashed by the high court in London. Do we have to tick the box that asks whether you have been convicted in a court of law? Your advice would be very much appreciated. Thank you.
my question below was about theft and theft from person, do you know if they will decide at the embassy on the day of my appointment or will it take longer due to needing further investigation?
HiThere, How much time dose it takes for a visa after the medical and police report from Dubai UAE.
Hi, I was convicted of GBH 3 and a half years ago. I received community service punishment. This was my only ever conviction. I want to go and work in austrailia for a year on one of the year long visa programs (I am under 30). Would there be any complications as a result of my conviction?
How does a police caution(not conviction) affect visa applications. Two of your responses (amphetamines and grass cuttings) seem to contradict one another. Please clarify
i have applied for a working holiday visa to go to australia for 12 months. i was charged with drink driving two weeks ago and my trial is set for the month before i leave. i have not heard anything about the visa application, i have never been arrested and never had any points before, do you think there's a chance my application could get refused?

For Australia - generally from 2 to 5 weeks assuming there is nothing wrong with either report.

Quashed means the conviction was removed. You do not have to mention it. You could include the facts as you have outlined them here if you wanted to be 110% correct.

It varies. All rests on how serious your offeding has been and how senior the interviewing officer is.

I got one recently within 4 weeks of the request being sent.

Yes there certainly could be.

Cautions can be taken into account when considering character. Australia is more likely to do this than the USA.

You need to declare the matter. YEs - it could result in a refusal - at least until the case is decided.
