Silver Fern Visa Category is a new visa policy to be implemented in April 2010. The visa is a two stage process. Initially, off-shore applicants can apply for a Silver Fern Job Search visa which will allow them to remain in New Zealand for up to nine months while they find skilled employment. Upon finding work, they can then apply for a Silver Fern Practical Experience visa - this allows them to remain for a further two years and offers a path to full residency.
