Australia Immigration boosts workforce and creates additional jobs

Economists believe that as well as filling the void of skilled workers in Australia, migration also helps to create further jobs due to the increase in population.

According to recent migration economics figures, skilled migrants have accounted for roughly a third of the 460,000 new jobs created in Australia since 2005. However, the figures also show that a further third of the new Australia jobs created over the last two years has been generated by the need to feed, clothe, house and entertain the thousands of migrants entering Australia every year.

Overall, the statistics suggest, as a general rule, that for every one migrant that adds to the Australian workforce, a further job is created.

It is also believed that the increasing arrival of migrants to Australia will be economically beneficial in the future. It is predicted that GDP per capita will slowly go up due to immigration, which bodes well as the Australian market will be one of increasing wealth, whilst higher migrant intake means market of increasing numbers, and with a rising head count comes rising sales.
