Our Visa Team is reporting that it is becoming increasingly unlikely for those applicants with 60 points to be invited to apply for 489 Family Sponsored visas and 189 Independent visas at present. DIBP appears to be only inviting people with 65 points for both categories until the next migration year. DIBP is only releasing 5 invites each invitation round (twice a month) for 489 Family Sponsored visas to Australia. The Visa Team advises that the best option for people with 60 points is to apply for sponsorship from an Australian state (190 State Sponsored visa).
