A new high of 17059 people became Australian citizens on 26th January this year, transitioning from various visas to become fully fledged Australians. Queensland gained the most new citizens, with 5000 taking the oath. The increase is further evidence of the higher quality of life in Australia as people decide to make a life for themselves in the country after sampling what Oz has to offer them.
