Poll suggests almost half of Brits want to emigrate

by | Jun 11, 2012

A recent poll has found that nearly half of all Brits are ‘seriously considering’ emigrating overseas to Australia, New Zealand and elsewhere. The YouGov poll poll asked around 1650 British adults if they were interested in emigrating to another country. 6% said they were actively making plans to leave, and 42% said they were seriously considering it. The high cost of living is cited as a major factor by 52% of those polled, as well as the weather, which was an issue for 37%. Other factors included job availability and perceived crime levels.
