What Is The Skilled Occupation List (SOL)?

The Skilled Occupation List is a list of roles required in Australia, which is put together annually by Skills Australia. Seeing as Australia is a huge country with a population of only around 24 and a half million… there is a need for certain roles to be filled in communities across this gargantuan country.

What Visas Is The SOL Relevant To?

The SOL applies to all skilled migration visas:

  • Skilled Independent visa Subclass (189)
  • Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa (Subclass 489) – sponsored by either an Australian relative or by the State
  • Graduate Temporary (Subclass 485) – Graduate Work Stream
  • Skilled Nominated visa (Subclass 190)
  • Direct entry stream of Employer Nomination Scheme (Subclass 186)
  • Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (Subclass187)
  • Temporary Work (Skilled) visa (Subclass 457)
  • Training and Research visa (Subclass 402)

What Visas Is The CSOL Relevant To?

  • Skilled Regional (Provisional) Subclass 489 visas – if sponsored by an Australian relative
  • Graduate Temporary Subclass 485 Visas – Graduate Work Stream
  • Skilled Nominated visa (Subclass 190)
  • Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa (Subclass 489)
  • Direct entry stream of Employer Nomination Scheme (Subclass 186)
  • Temporary Work (Skilled) visa (Subclass 457)
  • Training and Research Visa (Subclass 402)
