The only Federal Business application presently available is the Start -Up Program.
Canada’s Start-up Visa Program targets immigrant entrepreneurs with the skills and potential to build businesses in Canada that:
- are innovative
- can create jobs for Canadians
- can compete on a global scale
To apply for this Program, an applicant must be supported by a Designated Organisation such as:
- Designated Venture Capital funds
- Designated Angel Investor Groups
- Designated Business Investor
You must also have minimum language ability and settlement funds.
This application is very fast and will also allow the applicant to get Work Permits quickly. However, the level of investment is quite substantial.
Provincial Business Routes
Most Provinces will have Business streams. Eligibility will usually be based on factors such as age, Business experience, investment, location and Capital assets.
Once selected, Work Permits can be obtained in order to commence business activities. The Province will have detailed criteria which will need to be met over a period of time (usually two years) before Nomination can be given, and an application for Permanent Residency made.
