New Australian visa charges from 1st July 2013

by | Jun 14, 2013

New visa pricing arrangements will be introduced on 1st July 2013. This will change visa application charges from a single charge at the time of application to a charge per applicant basis. Essentially, every individual included on the visa application is now charged, rather than the single flat-rate visa fee of $3060 as at present. For many applicants, this will result in a doubling of their visa fees. As an example of what this may mean for you, we can provide the following scenario: From 1st July, a 190 (state sponsored) main applicant with a partner and two dependent children will pay a Base Application Charge of $3060 (£1875). His partner is a secondary applicant, over 18, and as such will add a further $1530 (£940). His two dependent children each incur a charge of $765 (for a combined total of $1530). The total combined visa fee is therefore $6120 (£3750). This is double the current flat-rate $3060 (£1875).
