Skilled migrants doing well in New Zealand

Research by New Zealand’s Department of Labour has found that 94% of skilled migrants are in jobs three years after migrating, and earning, on average, NZ$30 (£14) per hour. The study found that migrants with higher qualifications are rewarded with significantly higher earnings, suggesting they have managed to use their skills in their jobs in NZ. Skilled migrants who were awarded points for a job offer were also found to be earning as much as skilled migrants already working in NZ when they applied for residence.
