Vetassess to accept colour scans of originals from 1st December (General Occupations only)

by | Nov 12, 2015

Vetassess has released a statement confirming that from the 1st December, certified copies of documents will no longer be required for General Occupations. They will now accept colour scans of originals, as long as the scans are high quality. This should make the application process more straightforward for Australian skilled visa applicants, and save them the time and money that would otherwise be involved in having documents copied and certified. The new policy was agreed after consultation with Vetassess’s stakeholders. Trade applicants should be aware that this applies only to the Vetassess General Occupation assessment service. Trade applications will continue to require certified copies of documents for the foreseeable future. The move to acceptance of colour scans of original documents is indicative of a wider trend among skills assessing authorities; Engineers Australia already accepts scans of original documents, and other assessing authorities are likely to adopt this policy in the future.
